I grew up with this momma and I have to say it was pretty surreal to see her again after several years with 3 little boys in tow. They kept us all on our toes as we chased them around the park, but they kept us laughing with their antics. Mom and Dad were so easy going, the boys were fun, the photographer was happy :) I'd say it was a great morning.

This may be one of the sweetest seniors I've ever photographed. He was really fun to be around and so easy in front of the camera. I know it was bittersweet for mom to see her baby boy all grown up, but i have no doubt that he's ready for what the world has in store. Congrats, sweet Ty.

This little sweetheart met me on Galveston Island for a little fun in the sun. She brought along her cutest outfits, her adorable smile, her energy, and her entourage ;) Kayla was such a good sport considering all the walking (and running) we did. It was an adventurous and memorable afternoon. It was a day meant to be.

It was a humid, early, overcast morning and I was prepared for a frazzled mom and dad knowing they had 3 young boys to get ready for pictures. It was quite the contrary. The kids were happy and mom and dad seemed remarkably cool and collected considering they'd been at it for a while making sure that these handsome boys were dressed, fed, rested, and happy. The boys were great and so were mom and dad. I know it was a lot of work to get ready for me, but these pictures sure make me smile remembering our morning together.

It's been a couple of years since I've photographed this sweet family and they have grown in numbers since last we met for a photo shoot. They were ready to be captured again and they chose a woodsy trail as their backdrop. We started pretty early and managed to get some of the prettiest backlit shots, but I'd say that the show-stealer are those big, blue eyes!

This little dumpling is so loved. Her very sweet mother and grandmother brought her to me with a trunk full of outfits and accessories to match. They love buying for her and dressing her and hugging and kissing on her. There is no shortage of attention for little Rylee and who could blame them with blue eyes like that. She looked like a vintage doll with her peter pan collared dress, ruffled dress socks, and black patent leather shoes. So little and already a trendsetter ;)

Oh, Emma! She is so much fun to photograph. She's smiley, precocious, and irresistible. I've seen her 3 times in the past year or so and every time I see her I leave with a big smile on my face. I want to kiss on those sweet, soft, chubby cheeks of hers. She's not one for being contained these days so I resisted the urge to scoop her up and hug her. :)

I had been wanting to try this little area for a while now and who better than the Smith cuties to model. I was hoping for fun and colorful and mom did not disappoint with her styling. This is one of my FAVORITE families to photograph. They are so easy, so down to earth, so pretty, and always so darn cute! I've gotten to capture them 3 different times in just over a year and they won me over with their charming ways the first time we met so the other 2 times were icing on the cake ;)

My husband and I both grew up with this mom and dad and you can bet it's a lot of fun (and a little surreal) to see them with 3 gorgeous girls keeping them busy, busy, busy. I know they must be a handful, but they sure are fun to play with and cuddle.

I've gotten a few emails regarding mini sessions this coming Spring and I finally sat down with my calendar and scheduled a few dates for the coming months. I've highlighted mini dates in pink on the calendar so check there for availability and let me know if any of the dates and times interest you!

On to the goods...
Met these cuties for the first time last year and it is always so good for me to see return clients. Things are, naturally, a bit more relaxed and we managed to wrap up a full shoot in about 30 minutes. We got so many great shots that when the girls seemed to be done with the camera, we didn't push and parted ways. All parties left feeling successful. It was a win-win kind of morning ;) My favorite!

I got to see these big kids just before the holidays and knew I'd be seeing them again after the new year with a new sibling. So many fun changes for this sweet bunch. Following the holidays they moved into a beautiful, new home and welcomed this adorable baby into their lives. Have colored stripes ever looked so cute?

This beautiful family has been sitting on my hard drive and I'm so glad to finally share them with you. These family pictures were special and came on the heels of years of dealing with very serious medical issues. Things for this precious bunch have finally settled down and when we met they were ready to capture their love, their joy, and their peace. I wish that I could share their sweet spirits the way I got to experience them, but I hope that their smiles and their hugs convey their special love for each other.

Please excuse the blogging hiatus! January is a slow time of year for me business-wise and you'd think that would leave me time for blogging, but I've actually taken advantage of the slow season to catch up on personal business i.e. taxes, housekeeping, crafts, projects, etc. etc. I didn't mean to leave you hanging, but I fully intend on finishing up 2012 posts this week!

Also, if you've emailed about a mini session be sure to check the calendar in the next several days. I'll be figuring out dates and locations for those mini sessions and I'll be posting them on the blog calendar soon!

The Welch family always manages to come up with great locations for our shoots. You'd normally be underwhelmed by a gravel road surrounded by dormant trees, but I LOVE the colors and what a great job they did incorporating their wardrobe into their surroundings. We've been friends with these guys a long time and that tall lanky boy was once the cutest, chunky baby around. Now he's all grown up and has just about passed me up. Little man and I go back to the very beginning, too. I think I walked into the room to meet him for the first time just minutes after he was born. Needless to say, I've gotten to capture plenty of milestones for these two. I'll leave you to admire this beautiful family.

Though I had recently seen this family for Christmas pictures, Mom and Dad wanted to make sure that little Abigail had her own special shoot to commemorate a special 1st birthday girl! I'm not sure that I've ever had a shoot for a first birthday that included mom and dad, but what a GREAT idea it is. How special are these pictures of Abigail with her mom and dad. She will forever treasure these memories. I'm so happy to get to capture these special milestones for other families.

This sweet Chubbyfoot family let me step in while Mackenzie travels abroad. I know they missed their Mackenzie, but I'm glad that just this once I was able to experience the Metz family. So much fun being around them. I think the pictures speak for themselves. My only regret is not being able to join them for breakfast post-shoot because of mini shoots I had lined up. But, maybe our paths will cross again in the future. They sure were fun to work with!

This is the sweetest little threesome I know! First time I met Miss Em for pictures was 2 or 3 years ago and she was so shy in front of the camera. Times have changed :) She is so smiley and that twinkle in her eye is so engaging. Mom and dad are doing something right with this happy girl. We finished up our shoot inside the Humble City Cafe with a few shots of 4 special and blessed generations.

These little ringlets may look familiar to you :) My sweet little friend, Harper, came to see me once again. I could take her home with those precious curls and sweet smile. She invited me to ride the Hermann Park train with her and I so wish I could have taken one trip around the park with her. I always enjoy seeing this gorgeous bunch!

This is the second time I've gotten to see the Brown family and once again, I'm amazed by how much the little ones change in a year. Brooke's beautiful curls are longer and she stands a little taller, but her sweet personality has stayed the same. Little man was running around this year and showing off his independence. We worked a bit for his sweet smiles, but it was worth it.

I got to meet the sweet, sweet Toth family for the first time and it turns out we have plenty of common friends. I love it when that happens. It's amazing to me how many new people I've gotten to meet in the last year from all walks of life and yet there's usually some common thread. It's a small world, after all. :)

It had been a few years since I last saw the O'Day family. It was sooooo strange to see little Mia looking like a little grown up. The last time I had seen her she was wearing ruffled diaper covers and showing off her sweet baby legs. This time she wore her cutest skinny jeans and showing off her long, big-girl hair. This little bunch is hard to forget. Long after we've finished our shoot together I am replaying the funny things they did and the sweet things they said. They are each beautiful inside and out and it warms my heart and my spirit just being around them all.
