A Manifesto....of sorts

Are you still there?  I'm checking in.  I'm dipping my toes in the water.  Just want to make sure you know I'm still here.

I'm excited about this past year and the changes that came about.  Many blessings.  Many changes.  Many victories.  Many growing moments.  I have a feeling that Twenty-Twelve will bring more of the same.   At least, I'll be praying for more of the same.

I've been most blessed by all of the new clients that found me either through Chubbyfoot.com or friends of friends.  This past fall was a whirlwind and I was certainly in survival mode so I didn't have much of a chance to "talk" the way I like to "talk" via this minuscule blog venue of mine.  But, it's January and January is historically one of the slowest months of the year for me so I have time to "talk".

Lend me your ear.

I like taking pictures.  I love taking fluid pictures.  Fluid pictures are pictures that speak to you.  They let you in on a little something.  They're pictures that aren't (usually) perfectly centered, perfectly composed, perfectly cropped.  But, they speak.  They tell a greater story than the picture that IS perfectly centered, composed, and cropped.  They're perfect in their own rite.  These are the pictures I love to take.  I'm asking you to keep an open mind.  Embrace the images that are fluid.  They're one dimensional and yet they abandon the constraints of one dimension because maybe a little girl chose to look and smile at her big brother instead of looking at the camera.  Maybe a mother's wind blown hair inspired a genuine smile from her daughter.  Maybe that hot wheel he refuses to let go of will remind you in the future of a little boy that once was.  So, maybe you can appreciate them the way I can appreciate them and not fret so much if not everyone is looking or smiling "just right." Maybe you already do or maybe you will.

I leave you with a few images from 2011.  Judge for yourself the power of an imperfect picture.
