So, I promised to fill you in on some changes going on behind the scenes that are now making their way to the foreground.
Mackenzie, owner of Chubbyfoot Photography, and family will be moving to Belgium in less than 2 months. As the owner of a successful photography business that counts on many, many loyal clients, Mackenzie felt that she would need to refer her clients to someone in her absence. That "someone" is me and I am truly honored that she would trust me with so much. Welcome, Chubbyfoot fans! I hope you'll find Heartspun to be an inspiring site to visit, just as Chubbyfoot has been for me and so many of you.
I'm happy to report that Mac will continue to blog about her adventures in Belgium with her beautiful family over the next 3 years. If you would like to follow the Wheatley crew as they break ground in another country, simply click on the Chubbyfoot is Moving link above. I know I'll be virtually tagging along :)
Item number 2: Miranda
Miranda has worked with Mackenzie over the last year and has overseen editing and graphic design for Chubbyfoot. I'm thrilled to inherit Miranda and her many talents. If you click on the middle box above, you'll be redirected to the custom products that Miranda has created and will be offering to Heartspun and Chubbyfoot clients. She is also responsible for the oh-so-cute ads you see above. She has a beautiful eye for design and her artistic perspective is a breath of fresh air for me. For many years, I've assumed the role of photographer and graphic designer, but truth be told, I'm no graphic designer. I'm happy, thrilled, to be able to count on a true professional. Welcome, Miranda!
Mackenzie came to me with the idea of a home shoot. I hope these images will remind them of their sweet life on this side of the world and harken memories of every day life in the Wheatley home. As you can see, their dwelling place is full of personality, warmth, and vibrance. It's cheerful and bright. But, what else would I expect from a most creative colleague.
Best wishes, Wheatley Family. I have no doubt Europe will be a better place.
B is for Boys...and a Beautiful Mom
Sunday, September 25, 2011
It's Monday and I know things have been quiet on the front lines, but there are a lot of changes in the works. In a day or 2, I'll be telling you about those changes and giving you a little background on all of it. The changes are good. The changes are great. So, check back this week!
On to the good stuff...
I met Jeff and Kati along with their brood of boys for a family shoot last week on a rather warm September afternoon. Admittedly, I was a little nervous about photographing 3 young boys as they tend to shy away from the camera, but these fellas were cooperative, sweet, and willing to partake in some picture-taking if only for a little while. Mom brought along some balloons for the birthday boy and had the brilliant idea of letting the boys hold the balloons and release them while I snapped away. We were hoping to capture the boys watching the balloons drift into the sky. Hoping. Unfortunately, we didn't account for the tall pine trees that mischievously trapped the balloons and quickly ended their idyllic ascent. We got a good laugh out of it anyhow.

Garret and Daxton
Saturday, September 10, 2011
These boys were my very first photo shoot 6 years ago. Little brother Daxton was in utero so you actually don't see him in our shoot, but technically he was in the pictures :) So, they're growing like weeds and changing so fast. It was time to freeze frame again and capture them just as they are - serious, silly, rambunctious, stoic, and wildly cute.
Mark and Lorie: Engaged!
Thursday, September 8, 2011
Got to meet these guys last week in Old Humble and personally congratulate them on their engagement. They showed up looking spiffy, don't you think?! They are so sweet together and I felt honored to have been asked to commemorate their engagement with pictures. It was a great shoot made even better by a cute pair of red, peep-toe shoes. :)
