Summertime

It's summer and how perfect that work slows down, but time with friends and family is in high gear.  We recently returned from a trip to the hill country where we had a glorious time with our friends, the Phillips.  It was one of those trips that you hate to see the end of.  It took me a few days to adjust to the pace back home...laundry, phone, TV, computer, etc. etc.  There, we swam until we were tired and napped until we were well again.  It was special to share this time with close friends that enjoyed every bit of it the way we did.  Happy Summer.

Heartspun newbies are always exciting, but when I get a new family that's as sweet and entertaining as they are beautiful I know I can't go wrong.  Holli showed up with her colorful crew and much to our dismay we discovered upon arrival that my favorite, tattered and worn train depot has been bathed in a fresh coat of paint.  But, their colorful wardrobe saved the day and brought personality to these images.  We got to visit a bit at the end of our shoot and I was most flattered that Holli had carefully perused my blog when deciding that I would be a good fit for what she was wanting in a shoot.  I hope I didn't disappoint!

Can you handle...

this much cuteness?!?!?!  Oh, these darling children are so easy to photograph.  Their faces and beautiful eyes have so much personality and it makes it so easy on my end.  Mom wanted to keep the shoot simple and she was smart to do so, with an active toddler and baby.  She did a great job of bringing bright, colorful outfits and props to really make this shoot pop.  I LOVE the bold colors against the muted backdrop!  I also had many helping hands ready and willing to make silly noises and faces for the sake of a smile (Thanks, Nana)! I hope these beautiful babies bring a smile to your face the way they did mine.

I'm a little nervous to be posting on this blog.  I hope you've all made your way here from my typepad account.  I'm not usually one for change, but I must say that this new, cleaner format suits me well.  Be patient with me as I figure out the logistics of posting here.  This dog is no good at learning new tricks, but I'm trying

P.S.  my facebook fan page has 397 fans and the OCD character flaw in me would love to see that number at 400.  It's a nice even number.  If you haven't already 'liked' the page, would you?  Even if that means an odd number of fans :)  Find me here.
