I just wanted to wish all of my Heartspun honeys a sweet Halloween. Happy trick-or-treating!
The Elkins Family
Thursday, October 28, 2010
This is the 2nd year that I've gotten to see the Elkins bunch and I was quite happy to receive the email requesting a 2010 shoot. Their kids are old enough to mind and be pleasant on demand, they are all super laid back, and because of this I get to show up and do my job with no unforseen surprises or dilemmas. It's EASY! I was doubly excited when they asked what I thought about me shooting them doing their favorite hobby. Music to my ears. They're avid runners so they all showed up in their running gear ready to just have fun doing what they love to do as a family.
The CoVans in Gruene, Texas
Monday, October 25, 2010
We traveled with the CoVans to Gruene, TX this past weekend and had an awesome time dipping our feet into the cold Guadalupe, eating icecream cones on the lawn outside of Gruene Hall, laying on the lawn and looking at the stars afterwards, and shooting some pool inside the oldest dance hall in Texas. The weather was perfect, the company was good, and the music was great.
My husband and I lived in this area the first two years of our marriage (before kids) so we get so excited and nostalgic when we travel I-35. He kept saying to me, "This is where we belong." And after such an awesome weekend, I'm choosing not to ponder that he might be right or I'm liable to craft a For Sale sign and stick it in the front yard tomorrow. Gruene is where we've listened to the likes of Asleep at the Wheel and where my hubby nearly was arrested trying to meet Willie Nelson in his college days. It's a great part of Texas that holds many memories for us.
We took advantage of the beautiful scenery to take some family pictures of our dear friends. It's been a few years since they've had their pictures taken as a family and I'm hoping that the wait, the trip, and our company was worth it. They made Gruene look even better with their western wear.
The Rys Family in the Fall
Tuesday, October 19, 2010
We last met in the Spring and now the Rys family came to see me in their fall hues. I also photographed baby Audrey about a year ago when she was a newborn and so I know that everytime I see her in the coming years she will have changed so much from our previous encounter. Her hair is growing and her personality is on full display. This is such a fun age with little ones. I am really loving the moody, fall tones under the persimmon tree. This is my favorite time of year.

Just wanted to share with you some of the fun images we got of the three seniors together. Taylor and Gage are cousins. Gage and Zane are good buddies. AND Zane and Taylor are boyfriend/girlfriend.
