I've known this fella since he was about 10 years old running around the yard in nothing but his Hanes and holding on tight to his bb gun. Time has a way of changing things and he has managed to refine his style. He graduates from high school this year and though Gus has matured into adulthood, when I look closely at these pictures I can still see the face of a sweet little boy with an awesome sense of adventure.
The Welches: A family shoot
Tuesday, May 25, 2010
My husband and I have been married for 10 years now. The Welches are family friends that we've had since the beginning of our adult life together as husband and wife. We've seen each other through births, miscarriages, weight gain, weight loss, financial prosperity, financial stress, home-building, music-playing, and nay-saying. It's a good thing, as Martha Stewart would say, to have old friends. Meet our friends:
Shane, Marni, Garret, and Daxton
Owen: At play
Monday, May 24, 2010
Little Owen was in town from Alabama visiting family and the stars aligned for us to be able to meet and play and shoot. The color palette of his face photographs so beautifully. He has beautiful sandy blonde hair, royal blue eyes, fair skin, and rosy cheeks and lips. His gentle demeanor and extensive vocabulary make him all the more captivating.
Claire: A birthday shoot

Won't you ride in my little red wagon? Click the link for a listen. I hummed it the entire time I proofed this shoot.
There is nothing cuter.
A Friday teaser for mom

Just one little peak for a mom who is so sweet. I'll post more on Monday. Happy First Birthday, baby Claire!
The Ellzeys: A maternity shoot
Wednesday, May 19, 2010
Don't look too closely. I would hate for you to notice that Andrea is wearing regular jeans at 36 weeks. Don't look.
Mike and Andrea will be welcoming Baby Avery in just a few short weeks. They are so sweet talking about what life will be like with their little girl and I can guarantee that Avery is destined to have killer eyes. The other day I was looking at video of my now two year old daughter when she was just a few months old. For a split second I contemplated life with a third child. And in another split second my mind fast forwarded to teenage years. And in less than 2 seconds I was once again happy to be the mother of two. Now, I will stop talking about it before God shows me who's boss. Nonetheless, I have no doubt that Mike and Andrea will be blissful with their new bundle of joy. I wish for you an incredible journey.
Dancing Divas: A Children's Shoot
Saturday, May 15, 2010
These four little darlings will soon be dancing in the annual show that's become quite the event in our small town. When I was asked to do this shoot I knew it would be so fun. Getting little girls to be sassy and cute is hardly work at all. They were ready to put on a show for me and my camera and, as you can imagine, deciding who was first was the only task to be tackled.
1. I've kept in touch with many of you through Facebook. I no longer have that account active so if for some reason I don't already have your email, be sure to send it to me to keep up with you that way cvkillion@hotmail.com.
2. I'm really considering a shooting weekend in either Austin or San Antone this summer. I would need at least 5 families to commit before I could commit to a weekend away. If you think you might be interested in either city please let me know and if there is enough interest I will get back to you.
Thanks for reading! I feel like I've really slacked in the blogging dept., but summer brings a much slower pace that will allow me to be a better blogger. Don't give up on me!
The Holloway Twins: A sister shoot
Wednesday, May 12, 2010
These beautiful sisters look like real-live versions of American Girl Dolls. When they got out of their car for our shoot a complete stranger commented on how they had to have pictures made because they were so beautiful. That stranger had no idea I was there to photograph them. They were just that striking with their sassy haircuts. Mom emailed me about doing these pictures back in March and she had warned me that they were camera shy. So, I was prepared to put up a fight, but it took 5 minutes at most for them to warm up to the idea of looking precious in front of a camera. And they did just that.
