This sweet family has been a part of my life since my son was an infant. We've both grown our families together and will continue to do so. They invited me out to their neck of the woods for some pictures with the newest member of their family and I am certain the next time I photograph their family they'll be in their brand new home right next to Grandma's. Now, I do have to say that boys usually pose somewhat of a challenge for me as they hide from the camera or make their wackiest of faces for a good laugh. I have one of those boys in my home. But, Mr. Hayden was so excited to be in front of the camera and this made for an easy, easy shoot!
The Camps: A family shoot
Monday, March 22, 2010
In your life can you pick out certain people, other than family, that have in some way changed the course of your life? At the time, the influence seems subtle and hardly noticeable, but through the passage of time you come to realize how they've impacted your life for the better. I can recall 5 or 6 people that have impacted my life in such a way. The Camps happen to be two of those people in my life and it was with great pleasure and a belly full of butterflies that I jumped at the chance to photograph their sweet family.
The Menard Kiddos: A Children's shoot
Sunday, March 21, 2010
Before I begin with the official post I wanted to post the date, times, and location for Easter Mini shoots.
Date: Friday, April 2nd (no school for the kiddos)
Times: 5:10, 5:30, 5:50, 6:10, 6:30, 6:50
All shoots have been booked. Email for cancellation list.
Location:
A friend of my mother's has recently purchased this Victorian beauty in Crosby and is refurbishing it for its grand opening in the near future: Won't it be a darling gift shop? I will certainly post details regarding its official debut as soon as I get word. I got special permission to use the house for a few mini sessions.
I think its spank-brand-new coat of blue paint, crisp white columns, and wrap around porch will make the perfect backdrop for children in their Easter finery.
So, here's the deal with these shoots. They'll only be 20 minutes and for no more than 2 children. I will provide a CD with 10-15 color images. These shoots will only be $75 and the fee is due via paypal at the time of booking.
If you're interested please shoot me an email ASAP!
Now on to the good stuff.
I met this awesome-foursome in Kemah last week and as I drove to the Boardwalk I was imagining the chaos involved in dressing 4 children in coordinated, accesorized outfits for a photo shoot. I'm sure it was a hectic morning, but they showed up ready for the shoot as we raced against the clock to beat the onslaught of Spring Breakers that were already filing into the parking lot at 9 in the morning.
The babies are turning one and the saying on the machine was a dream find. But, in proper one-year old fashion, it was a bit of a challenge to get them to sit and face the camera. The "perfect" shot was out the window, but as it turns out, I find this series of shots much more interesting and cute.
They were a precious bunch indeed.
Kacy and Lacy: A Senior Shoot
Tuesday, March 16, 2010
Met up with these twin sisters a few days ago and the last time I saw them they were freshmen in high school. They're all grown up, beautiful and ready to vacate the halls of their high school. I was excited to do my first senior shoot of the year and the girls did not disappoint. They were sweet, sassy, and oh-so-cute with their young and fresh outfits. We took advantage of the beautiful weather that we've been privy to and the beautiful light that the sun had to offer.
Seriously, don't they look like a famous pair of singing sisters?? Wonder if you're thinking of the same sisters I'm thinking of? I love senior season!
The Rys Family and cousins: A family shoot
Friday, March 12, 2010
I met some sweet cousins out at Eagle Springs this past weekend and it was an eventful shoot. We did a lot of chasing and made a lot of funny noises trying to capture their attention and it was all worth it. They were cute and rambunctious as children should be. Between grandma and all of the aunts and uncles we managed to keep them confined to an area and got some precious shots. Their personalities are definitely captured and that to me is the most important thing when photographing people.
The above shot makes me grin from ear to ear.
Brian and Kathryn: An engagement shoot
Wednesday, March 10, 2010
I love these shoots and to have two back to back makes me a happy photographer. We met bright and early last Saturday morning for a shoot in Liberty, Texas. These two are in the process of building a new home to start their life together and they're surviving the process unscathed and still happy in love. It was a great way to start the day.
Wesley and Britley: An engagement shoot
Monday, March 8, 2010
I headed to Galveston last Friday afternoon to meet a couple that I knew would make my job easy. They're hip and stylish and in love. I couldn't ask for a better combination. Britley and I have been communicating via email for a while and we were finally able to cross paths on The Strand. Their excitement was contagious and once the sea breeze hit me and I took in the amazing texture and architecture that The Strand has to offer I knew this couple and myself were a match made in heaven.
Which do you like better...classic black and white or vintage?
