I haven't shot at this location in a while so I was thrilled to meet these guys there for  their engagement shoot.  There are so many vignettes and opportunities for me to hide and shoot and give you glimpses rather than shooting directly.  You'll notice that some of the pics look like I'm hiding behind a bush or tree...I AM!  I like to compose shots that make it seem like I'm just peeking and letting them do their thing like I'm not even there.  Here are a couple:

And take a look at both of their gorgeous blue eyes.  They'll make some pretty, blue-eyed babies some day!

Congrats on your engagement!  Thank you for braving the 30-something degree weather for the shoot.  It was COLD, but I think the end result was worth it!

I've had 3 engagement shoots just this month with one more tomorrow!  Sorry I'm a little behind, but I took a few days off to enjoy Christmas in all its glory.  Now it's back to business.  I'm finishing up my last few appts. in December and will be booking my last appts. before I go on maternity leave.  If you're wanting a last minute appt.  please let me know so I can get you in January.  Otherwise, I will be booking for May, June, July.
Here are April and Ben!  They were some of my very first clients when I started my business a few years ago.  Time has flown by and now they're preparing for a special destination wedding.  I hope you enjoy looking at their engagement pictures as much as I enjoyed proofing them.  They're certainly a good-looking couple that make me look good!

You can tell that these are the same locations as my previous engagement shoot, but they're different nonetheless.  I think these type of shots that are quirky and fun are perfect for young couples.  So much better than cheesy, lay-on-the-floor over a white sheet photograph.  Don't you think so?  Congratulations guys!  I wish I were traveling with you on your wedding.  What a blast!

In love.

Jamie and fiance Forest will be married in April.  I can imagine they're having the time of their lives seeing the world through rose-colored glasses because they found each other.

A different perspective:

They were so nice and just let me take them to some interesting 'pockets' in our hometown of Crosby.  We found some color where most people don't even look!

It's so cool to find these places.  People get so wrapped up in trying to find the perfect, scenic location for pictures when it's often not necessary.  I've shot at this building before.  It's an old building in town that's not been occupied for years.  It's worn and unkempt, but has character all its own.

And for you Crosby old-timers.... name that bridge:

Jamie and Forest, I wish you a beautiful life together.

And one on the way

I love working with this family.  I got to photograph them last year around the same time.  We met at their house and it was so exciting to see the pictures we took last year all over the place!  This family will be welcoming a baby girl in March...like me!

In every session, I always try to get some shots of just mom and dad.

I have one last family shot to include.  You might guess who was running the show during our shoot :)
