Mega Watt Smiles

The title says it all.  This family was so energetic and fun-loving.  Miss Rhonda is a member of my Bunco group so I get to see her smile regularly, but don't often get the chance to interact with her family.  I enjoyed all three of them so much and personality abounds in this household!

And I love this father/son shot:

We can't leave out mom with her gorgeous red hair!

I'm off to Fredericksburg this weekend for some fun shopping so I won't have new pictures up, but I will be posting again this week with some fun finds.

When is the right time for photos?

Friday, November 23, 2007

The answer is :  every age is the right age.  However, you must be willing to accept that every age captures a different stage.  Here we have Miss Addison.  She is 18 months old and oh-so-busy.  I didn't even attempt to ask mom and dad to just hold her because it's not where she's at in the world.  She is exploring, running, talking, playing and that's what we captured!

One quick look on her way to something more interesting than me and my camera :)

I was happy, too, that mom and dad didn't make her do what they wanted.  They just let her be.  And that's how it's supposed to be.  To contrast the busy age of 18 months we have Miss Brylee who is only weeks old.

As you can imagine, these two sisters are at very different stages, but they're both special and worthy of remembering.

And here's one more of Addi:

Thank you, guys, for welcoming me into your home!  I'm happy to capture these fleeting stages for you to treasure!

A new son

This shoot was easy by all accounts.  Baby Landon is a very content, easy-going baby and just laid wherever we put him.  I'm showing most of the shots in black and white because there's something powerful about a simple image when shown in shadows and light.  Sometimes color can be distracting.  These were some of my favorites in B&W.

One of my VERY favorites:

Do you see what I mean about the black and white?  I love color shots, but sometimes the color competes with the nature of the image - a baby's eye lashes, a new mother's embrace, sweet baby feet.  For you color fans, I do have some to share:

And a color shot  I really love because of the colors and angle:

I'm officially 'off' for a few days to enjoy my family!  Have a blessed week.

Better late than never!

So I am about a month behind on taking my son's 4 year old pictures, but we finally did it.  These shots are a little punchier than what I normally give to my clients, but it suites my taste and they're very special to me.  Enjoy...

It was magic in our own backyard.  I must share this last series of pictures that may be a little 'yuck' but certainly captures the essence of any 4 year old...

Have a Happy Thanksgiving with your babies!

It's the most wonderful time...

of the year!  It is so much fun to get to take holiday pictures of families.  I debated whether to take appts. being that I'm 5 1/2 months pregnant, but I couldn't miss out on the excitement.  Check out this lovely bunch:

And tell me these beautiful eyes aren't going to break lots of hearts...

This was a relatively easy shoot as "Miss A" isn't yet crawling.  We worked hard for smiles, but I think her sweet, serious face is just as endearing.
H5

And here's one for you dog-lovers.  This is 'Brother Ace' posing with "Miss A" in their hunting gear.  Don't you just love it?!

This is a return client.  I thought it would be fun to see a picture of Miss A when she was weeks old.  It's so fun to see them grow!

What's new with Heartspun?
* I will be on 'photography maternity leave' beginning in February.  I will resume appt. bookings for May.
* While I am on maternity leave I will be restructuring my pricing options.  Next Spring, clients will have the option of 2 packages.  I will offer the CD with a reprint release or you may opt to pay a smaller sitting fee and purchase professional grade prints from me (with no reprint release or cd).  I will also be offering return clients special incentives.  Stay tuned for the new pricing.  This will be a great option for clients who prefer to order directly from the photographer.

Thanks for your support!
